7 Chakras in body & diseases associated with it.

What are Chakras?

Chakras. You’ve possibly heard them mentioned in yoga class. You’ve almost definitely heard the “New Age” character on TV or in a movie talk about someone’s chakras being blocked. Maybe someone’s even given you the advice that you should work on a specific chakra. But that doesn’t mean you know what they are. Rest assured: You are not alone.

The chakras begin at the base of the spine and finish at the top of the head. Even though they are fixed in the central spinal column they are located on both the front and back of the body, and project outward around a persons’ body in a circle.

Chakras refer to various energy centers in your body that correspond to specific nerve bundles and internal organs. The seven major chakras run from the base of your spine to the top of your head. If these energy centers get blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.

You can see them as 114 junctions or confluences of nadis. The nadis are the channels of prana in the energy body. These junctions are always in the form of triangles. They are called chakras because they embody movement from one dimension to another, and the word “chakra” means “wheel” or “circle.” But they are actually triangles.

Each chakra vibrates or rotates, and each is stimulated by its own and complimentary color, each chakra also have crystals that help stimulate and heal them as well. The chakra colors are of the rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The size and brightness of the wheels vary with individual development, physical condition, energy levels, disease, or stress.

Chakras have only recently become more well-known, with the growth in popularity of yoga and New Age philosophies in general. They are a complex and ancient energy system that originated in India. They were first mentioned in the Vedas, ancient sacred texts of spiritual knowledge dating from 1500 to 1000 BC. There’s a lot one can study about them.

The line of chakras begins at the spine and flow upwards until the crown of our head, each having a distinctive color, function and association to various glands and organs. If there’s a mismanagement or blockage in any one of them, the entire energy exchange becomes imbalanced, resulting in the manifestation of a disease or an illness.

You can address the cause of your energetic imbalance with identifying the various interconnections between your chakras and your physical body. Each chakra has different blocked chakra symptoms and The chakra system refers to the energy centers we have in our bodies. There are seven major chakras, each in a specific location along your spine. Let’s look at each one more closely.

What does it mean if a Chakra is blocked or unbalanced?

“There can be a depletion of energy flow or too much energetic activity in a chakra — each will manifest into different outcomes,” she explained.

When a chakra is low in energy, she said, you’ll have difficulty expressing the particular qualities associated with that chakra.

When a chakra is overactive, the qualities are a dominant force in the person’s life. This can have both physical and emotional effects.

For example, the first chakra is about security, survival, and the foundation of our life.

If it’s underactive, it can show up as depression and insecurity. If there’s too much energy, it can show up as fearlessness without precaution or hoarding because you need more to feel secure.

Can a blocked Chakra affect your health?

In general, the location of the chakra that’s out of balance may affect the parts of your body in close proximity to that chakra, according to Malaspina.

This includes your organs, bones, joints, and tissues near that area.

Psychologically, she says, imbalances in the chakras may cause an emotional imbalance.

This may lead to increased anger, sadness, fear, or indecisiveness.

“It’s important to pay attention to both the psychological and physiological sensations because they can inform each other and uncover the root cause of the experience.

Experiencing too much stress — physically or mentally — may cause one or more chakras to be out of balance.

“Personal habits such as poor physical alignment or posture, eating unhealthy food, or self-destructive behavior may cause a chakra to be imbalanced,” she said.

Prolonged imbalance may lead to physical disease and illness, musculoskeletal issues, and mental health challenges like depression or anxiety.
